Scott Mongoose release
I have been shooting for around 5 years. I started 3-D shooting, then moved into hunting. My good friend and co-worker Mike Harris started me in the sport. I relied heavily on him for tips and repairs. I have since purchased enough equipment to start a small bow shop. Most of the equipment has paid for itself. I even started my wife in the sport, and now she beats me regulary. I think marriages are more interesting when there can be a little friendly competition!!!
I initially thought that speed is the only thing that matters in tourneyments or hunting. I since have found out after several speed bows that unless you have a perfect form, along with perfectly tuned equipment, speed kills. When I went to a more forgiving bow, ( 7" or more brace height, solo cam, and decreased poundage), I improved greatly. I even bagged my first buck with a bow this year.
Enjoy the sport, It'll bring faimly and friends together.
