I have found newsgroups to be too argumentative, but I really enjoy the Sagittarius board!
Sky Conquest, 70", 36lb fiberglass limbs (38 actual)
Shibuya sight
Genesis 5-Star stabilizer
Cavalier free-flite rest, plunger, and clicker
16-strand fast-flite string
arrows are ACC 3-04 (yes, I know they're too light....)
I stumbled across the sport of archery quite by accident five years ago, as a member of a renassaince recreation group. I have long since quit the SCA, but my passion for archery grows every year. I am a traditional archer at heart, but currently shoot Olympic style for the sake of having somewhere to compete! I fully intend to return to barebow shooting someday.
What a ride it has been!
I have met more wonderful people in the sport of archery than nearly anywhere else in my life. Overall I have found them to be open, ready to help in any way possible, and very giving.
It has been my experience that, if you allow it to, archery will dig deep into the heart of who you are and show you yourself. Good and bad. If you can take that, and learn from it, it can be an amazing tool for personal growth and satisfaction as well as athletic acheivement.
I'm not into all the latest techie gadgets, I'm more intetested in working on the loose nut behind the bowstring! :)
